Tips to Staging Your Home - Help it Sell Faster!
- Following some simple staging tips, your home can easily show better to potential home
buyers. A home that shows better has a much greater chance of getting an offer. Many of the tips below are simple, low
cost ideas that have dramatic results.
- Get rid of your clutter. Prospective buyers want to be able
to see the space in your house. If you have large furniture, you should think about putting one piece into
storage. By removing one piece of furniture, you can make a room feel much larger.
- The lighting in your home. Lighting in a home plays a large
part in what potential buyers see. Be sure all light fixtures are clean and have the proper bulb wattage. If
an area seems dark, try installing a higher wattage bulb or adding a simple, inexpensive accent lamp.
- Neutral wall colors. Having a fresh, neutral paint color on
the wall can help tone down any dated finishes. Be sure to repaint any bold wall colors with a nuetral color.
When buyers walk into a property with a large red wall, that is all they can think of and potentially lose their
attention to the rest of the home.
- De-personalize your home. You would be surprised how often it happens,
but having personal photos on a wall can distract a potential homebuyer. They see someone else living in the home and
cannot picture themselves living in the house. You want buyers to see themselves in the home, not you and your family.
